Our time in Bolivia was limited so we knew for the 9 days we had here, we had to make the most of it so an overnight bus to and from Rurrenabaque (Bolivias gateway to the Amazon) was the best time saving option for us.
We had arrived off our night bus from Uyuni and went straight back to the same hostel we’d been staying at but this time we had a room booked so we could sleep from 5.30am.
This would be our last day in La Paz so we wanted to make sure we had seen as much as we could before leaving. We dropped our clothes next door to the laundrette and headed to get the cable cars over the city for a different view and the plan was to end in the highest Irish Bar in the world, The Lucky Llama sitting at 3650m above sea level, for a drink. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the hostel before we left for the cable cars and to Gregor’s delight they were showing the Liverpool game and there was 30mins left!!
We decided to do a circular route on the cable cars over the city to see the different areas that were too far away to reach by foot and it was crazy how different La Paz looked from the sky.

In all honestly we hadn’t spent much time here but neither of us were dying about it, especially compared to other cities we’d been to but today really showed us a different side to La Paz and we actually thought it seemed kind of cool.
We stopped for a coffee and walk round at some of the different stops and the last stop was the Lucky Llama. This was a class wee bar however they didn’t have any Guinness so that was quite sad.

Back to collect the washing and a repack of the bags and we were ready for our night bus to Rurrenabaque. We really couldn’t be arsed with another bus but the fact we knew we’d be arriving in the Amazon in the morning was super exciting so we packed up our bags like two happy wee campers and set off!
G&L xx
