We have been offline a bit but we have a lot to update you on so there’s a full line up of posts incoming!
Day 20 was a more relaxed day than the Cocora Valley walk the day before but it was all centred around coffee which we were both super excited for.
We took the morning to catch up on some sleep and to make a plan for the next week in Columbia. This was much needed and the hostel was the perfect setting to do this.

The coffee tour at Elcaso Coffee was brilliant. We were taken down to the farm in a ‘Willy’ again and this journey was a lot rougher than the day before. Once again I was left hanging off the back as we headed down, gave the arms a much needed workout!

The tour itself was really interesting, we were able to see and take part in doing each stage of the process from planting the seeds of the trees through to brewing and tasting the coffee. It was another scorcher of a day so we were glad that most of the tour was outside.
Laura volunteered me at the end of the tour to be one of the baristas so I had to brew and serve coffee to the group with a few others which was good fun.

We had a little wait until the next Willy would be down to collect us so we took the time to enjoy the cafe on the coffee farm and watch over the jungle and the hummingbirds that were on the feeders nearby.

When we got back up to Salento we headed up to a viewpoint at the top of the town and had a few beers as the sunset.

We grabbed dinner in a place called Brunch and added some scribbles to the walls to which the place is well known for. Not sure Laura approved of all of mine!

We really enjoyed Salento and were sad to be leaving so soon but we felt we had done all the main things we wanted to do in the 2 days and so to make the most of our time it was best to head on to Medillin the next day rather than staying on for a third day as we had originally planned.
G&L xx
