Fresher than the day before we were up and out early enough for a walk through the botanical gardens and then went stopped at Borja Cafe for breakfast (by far the best breakfast on the trip yet).

Since we had seen the sights nearby the Airbnb already we decided we would grab a taxi down to the La Boca area and walk around. It is a very touristy area but we found all the gift stalls quite entertaining and the graffiti really cool.

Of course Messi holding the World Cup was everywhere!

Unfortunately we weren’t going to be in BA for a Boca Juniors game but while in the area we stopped in at the stadium. Some loyal fans were out singing for us tourists which was good, La Bombonera was very impressive!

Hungry and thirsty in the 40degree heat we made our way to San Telmo Sunday Market grabbed a glass of wine and watched some live tango outside in the square. This was a very cool but it’s safe to say neither of us are cut out for Tango.
The last thing for us to do while in BA was to go through the centre of town so we walked past Casa Rosada (a massive pink building the government work in), Palacio Barolo and then Teatro Colon. The city centre was pretty new and bland other than these three big buildings and we liked the other areas much more.

As it was our last night in Argentina I convinced Laura there was still scope for another steak and so we headed to La Cabrerra, a local restaurant recommended by a taxi driver we spoke to. It was busy so we chucked our name down on the wait list and went into a very cool place called Soria for a cocktail, espresso martinis (our favourite), and listened to some live music.

We were pretty gutted not to be doing a wine tour in Mendoza so trying some from there while we were in BA was our substitute and it was definitely needed to wash down the 600g ribeye which nearly killed me!

Safe to say that BA blew us away, we loved every minute and will definitely be back.
G&L xx
