The next stop on the trip was Patagonia and it was an early start from Santiago to get us down there.
Patagonia was a massive bucket list item for the both of us and probably the main reason we chose South America for our honeymoon.
As we flew in we could see just how impressive the next few days would be as we caught glimpses of Torres del Paine National Park and the surrounding area through the clouds.

It’s safe to say that this day of travel was the easiest as we were both just buzzing to be heading to start the W trek the following day.

Once we’d touched down and got to our hotel we had a few hours before our briefing so had a walk around Puerto Natales, grabbed a coffee and sorted our bags for the trip.

We met up with the group we would be hiking with that evening and we knew from the off that we had struck gold as everyone got along so well from the off.
A quick burger and of course another local beer then off to bed early ahead of tomorrow’s first hike.

Now there’s not much point in us boring you with all the details of the next 4 days of hiking but what we can say is that the whole thing was absolutely amazing and lived up to the hype. We’ve dropped in a few favourite photos from each day below, I don’t think we could pick out a highlight as it was all so great.
Day 1 – Base Las Torres
- Distance – 22.64km

Day 2 – Paine Grande
- Distance – 13.31km

Day 3 – Mirador Britânico
- Distance – 28.22km

Day 4 – Grey Glacier
- Distance – 11.11km

Once we got back to Puerto Natales everyone in the group went out for some traditional Chilean food which was great. We then all got very drunk very quickly as we were all knackered haha

There’s no doubt in our minds that we will be back to Patagonia for more trekking in the future.
G&L xx
