We got to the airport early doors and booked the Airbnb for Buenos Aires when we arrived.

When we got to Buenos Aires at about 1pm ish we went to top up on some Argentinean pesos straight away from the Western Union… we’ll not go into it as it’s all very confusing and boring – but we managed to get money out and we were happy.
We had some lunch at a cool wee cafe called Benigno as we walked through Palermo where we were staying, it was roasting as it had been in Rio and Iguazu so we jumped at the chance to grab an ice cream at Rapnui.

Since we still had a good bit of the day left we then went to the Evita Peron Museum and learned about her impact on Argentina. A nice afternoon and intro into BA.

Next on the agenda was some much needed washing. Our Airbnb had a place to do laundry so while I guarded the washing machines, Gregor went to buy some detergent. This was the most stressful 50mins without WiFi/data as I genuinely thought he’d been kidnapped but when he came back and informed me he had to go to 4 different shops it made sense.
After a much needed bottle of red in the flat to calm the nerves, we got ready and went out to Don Julios for dinner. This is a well known Michelin star steak restaurant in BA and according to Gregor it didn’t disappoint.
After a bottle of red wine in the flat, another bottle at a bar near by while we waited on our table and 3 glasses of Chandon that they handed out to people waiting on tables at Don Julios – Gregor still managed to finish off a 450g steak at 1am 😂 all in a nights work.

G&L xx
